It is a known fact to all that Kamal Hassan has put in in not just his heart and soul but also his years of earnings and life into the making of Viswaroopam at a budget of Rs 95 Crores.

Kamal's official estimate was that the movie would do a business of Rs 350 Crores including Direct Release Theatre Ticket Sales, Satellite Rights, Music rights, DTH subscriptions, and Distribution/Dubbing Rights.
The movie, as we have seen, is definitely capable of making more business than the estimates. It would have easily done a business to the tune of Rs 500 Crores if every thing went fine.
But with the delay of the release in Andhra and Tamil Nadu and the postponement of DTH release has lead to a scenario that the movie has hardly collected less than Rs 12 Crores till today.
This is very unfortunate. We rarely see gems like Kamal Hassan in our Industry, who can take the industry itself to the next level but it is very sad to see such a gem to be trampled in the game of selfish politics.
